"Beauty and Misery is a precious album to me, personal and autobiographical that reflects a very delicate period of my life. Tracks' subtitles "Innocence" and "Awareness", tell of a certain context I was living in between December 2021 and January 2022 and they're perfect photographs of that fragile period. Misty moods, airy sounds and intimate reflections."

-REVIEWS UP TODAY-

“Traces of a lost splendor among the remains of a decaying interior, lights and shadows that merge into a single image which gives welcome and synthesizes the sensations of a moment translated into sound flow. Lorenzo Bracaloni's musical activity continues unabated, proposing a new track entrusted to the care of the newborn Slow Tone Collages, a branch of the Dutch Shimmering Moods. Conceived and designed as a bipartite itinerary with coherent development, "Beauty and Misery" proposes italian musician ambient “habits”, under a partially new guise, who renounces the dazzling luminescence of his most recent works, to define a more crepuscular listening territory. Synths, acoustic instruments and field recordings remain the essential components of Fallen’s atmospheric lexicon (and trademark) and the sinuosity of his molded sound is unchanged, but supportino here vivid emotions linked to experience, showing darker frequencies and streaks that emerge faintly in filigree. The melody of synthetic modulations and sparse piano styles that unfolds after the first quarter of an hour of the initial piece, bursts from an almost underground substrate, reaffirming the dichotomy expressed by title and cover artwork. Same register for the second part of the work, which is more inclined to leave room for a sense of placid well-being, amplified by the ethereal echoes of a final part that finds remnants of new age resonances and diaphanous vocal trails ,dear to the softer trajectories of BVDUB. We are certainly in front of one of the best author’s proofs, a bittersweet vein capable of undermining the risk of a comfortable reiteration in favor of an always desirable sound expansion.” (review by Peppe Trotta, So What, IT, October 2022, sowhatmusica.wordpress.com/2022/10/26/fallen-beauty-and-misery/)

"Prolific in his musical outpouring Child of a Fallen Creek, Lorenzo Bracaloni has created out of time in his life that was delicate and in many ways challenging, a beautiful, soft and simple work Beauty and Misery. That these emotions can be crafted together in a soft, gentle style is a tribute to the artist and his talent. Noted for his diverse work, Beauty and Misery is only two tracks in duration, both lead in by a soft, acoustic sound which gently leads into the body of the work. Commencing with Innocence the music floats into the ether in a flowing 36 minutes of bliss, permeated with the precise notes of the piano, to form a basis for the underlying electronic melody. Sweeping overtones add to the many layers of the music to create an almost cinematic landscape, slightly eerie but with a delicate form. Relax into this precious piece and simply allow the gentle music to lead you to a special place; a place of innocence. Listen for the reading from ‘If’ by Rudyard Kipling hidden within the music. The second section Awareness has been created in a similar format but is far more alert, with a faster stronger tone felt from the beginning which holds for a little more than seven minutes, before developing into a more structured electronic piece, slightly darker and more complex. It is as if the previous naivety has been broken, damaged, and the new emotion is one of change, acceptance and rebirth. Deeply personal this album is one of gentle reflection, acceptance and eventually moving on with life, living and loving. The gentle, delicate layers of drifting melody sooth, heal and offer peace. Without doubt Beauty and Misery could very easily be considered as Bracaloni’s finest work to date. Vastly different to his previous works, this showcases a far more introspective element to his compositions and is an absolute delight to listen to time and time again. It asks for nothing but gives everything." (review by Janet Mawdesley, Blue Wolf Reviews, US, September 2022, bluewolf-reviews.com/music/electronica/beauty-and-misery/)

"..the epic Beauty and Misery (Slow Tone Collages, August 2022) on Amsterdam label Shimmering Moods' new long-track, well shows how Bracaloni slowly developed Fallen's specific sound design.."
