and how we sink into water
plunge into sleep,
naked and dressed in white

- REVEWS UP TODAY-

"Fallen is experimenting with different sounds and moods. Four months after the “Sonnambuli” release, “The Floating World” is the new Lorenzo Bracaloni’s album under the monicker of Fallen and it was released on July 21st 2023 by the sardinian label ROHS! Records. After years of various publications, this new album marks a change of direction for Fallen: the eight compositions on the album, look at different directions, experimenting with different sounds and different moods. Balance and inner peace are the basis of the opening track “Forgotten Morningrise” which maintains soft and airy sounds, accompanied by field recordings. The piano melody guides the listener into a daydream, a music that aims to be a cure for the soul, a safe refuge in which to feel welcomed and protected. A dilated floating guitar opens “Let Things Be (Miracles happen Sometimes)”, the third track of thealbum and it sounds meditative, with a bright and clean sound, like a cold ambient music that at a first listen seems amorphous, before suddenly growing in dynamics. The piano notes flow in drops like a frozen waterfall, while the background drones envelop everything in an ethereal and enchanted atmosphere. The final effect is surprising! A track that mixes drama and imaginative character. Next track “Secret Paths, Secret Tales” moves slowly with its dotted rhythmic breaks; it’s a sweet song that draws both from ambient and post rock with subtly changing repetitions, that intertwine with the icy melodic phrasing. Instrumentals like “Sing Your Poem under Evening Trees” are characterized by an enveloping sound, atmospheric drones and constantly evolving sound microworlds that give dynamism to seemingly immobile tracks. “The Floating World” is a varied and a very fresh album, which maintains a certain amount of cathartic power. Fallen keeps his way of composing unchanged, although bringing a certain innovation in his sound that makes the album work by maintaining high attention throughout its duration." (www.radioaktiv.it/fallen-the-floating-world, Radioaktiv.it, IT, review by Mario Ariano, September 2023)

"As with many of Fallen’s works a delicate slice of poetry accompanies the music, this time it is from Nazim Hikmet a Turkish Poet known for his lyric and political poems. Read the verse, listen to the music and allow your mind to float free, to enjoy your special journey into ‘The Floating World’.

“Soul of mine,
close your eyes very quietly,
and how we sink into water
plunge into sleep,
naked and dressed in white
the most beautiful of dreams will welcome you.”
(Nazim Hikmet)

Nature, birds chirping, delicate sounds floating on the ether are joined by the single notes of the piano to commence the beautiful Forgotten MorningRise from the new release The Floating World from Fallen, aka Lorenzo Brancaloni. Moving back into a more familiar sound ranges is the delicate Gates in the Clouds, is a song that makes you wonder what lies behind the clouds when what appears to be an opening occurs. Is there another world, another universe just out of view? How many times have you wandered down Secret Paths, Secret Tales being told with all the mystique that can be gathered to enhance and mystify the story, even if it is only in the secrets of the mind held close and dear. Mystical in arrangement Secret Paths, Secret Tales captures that element of wonder, those hidden, secretive moments, held safely within the mind to later be taken out and enjoyed. Embrace Your World is a hunting, many layered ambient song that is vastly intriguing with the various elements blending together in a style that is refreshing, and most enjoyable, which leads nicely into Sing Your Poems Under Evening Trees, which captures that moment of peace when the day is done and it is time to sit, enjoy and indulge in the living poetry of life all around. The Floating World one of the shorter songs, contains a more vibrant element to draw a delightful journey to a somewhat eclectic finale. (bluewolf-reviews.com/uncategorised/the-floating-world/, Blue Wolf Review, US, review of Janet Mawdesley, August 2023)

"I’ve been a fan of ROHS! Records out of Italy (HT: Ivo Petrov – thanks!) for some time. They put out consistently good ambient music and organic electronica every month, it seems, and this release from Lorenzo Bracaloni, who goes by the monicker Fallen, is a delight to listen to. It’s not a normal album for ROHS! – rather, it shifts a lot. The music starts with what sound like processed field recordings and blend their way into more structured electronic music soundscapes, then drift back into a spacious bit of guitar playing. There’s a slightly rough edge to the recording – it’s not saccharine or too ‘new age-y’. Nor is it haunting or depressing. It’s a rather uplifting album, and it was nice to feel a sense of calmness after finishing the listening session."
